Let customers speak for us
from 32 reviewsI was expecting a thin layer of chocolate surrounding a macadamia nut when I bought these, however, this macadamia nut is completely encased in chocolate. With such lovely high quality chocolate and it being so plentiful, chocolate covered nuts will never be the same to me. I love these!
I love anything and everything chocolate but had never tried cacao tea prior to this. Steeping the chocolate tea in hot water creates an aroma of beautiful dark chocolate that will excite you for the cup. In terms of flavor, this chocolate has fruity notes and is a less bitter than other chocolate. In terms of tea versus your typical hot chocolate, the tea is obviously a lot more water to chocolate in its ratio and you will not have the same mouthfeel as you do with hot chocolate. The health benefits are definitely still there and if you’re looking to hydrate and get a bit of a theobromine boost, then I would definitely suggest trying some cacao tea. This cacao tea is of excellent quality and I highly recommend it!
The ratio of fruit to chocolate is perfect here. Apple bananas are very unique and I would definitely suggest trying if you’ve never had before and the quality of this chocolate is excellent. My fiancé and I loved these and will definitely be buying more soon.
Apple bananas are quite unique and provide for a delicious treat when paired with this delicious chocolate. The chocolate has fruity notes and compliments the banana perfectly with just enough grittiness in the texture to enhance the mouthfeel of the chocolate. This chocolate bar is delicious and I would highly recommend!
The quality of this cacao is excellent. Not as dry powdery as a lot of the commercial brands so you don’t have to worry about inhaling your cacao when opening the package. The flavor is very fruit forward and it really stands out for that. Overall excellent product and I will be purchasing again when I finish my current supply. I love the fact that this is the freshest cacao powder that you can buy!
Love love love your chocolate, made just perfect, and thank you for the very fast shipping...
This was our favorite chocolate bar. Coffee is great too. Loved our visit to Big Island, and occasionally need that Aloha moment; we order online and ship to our home in the Eastern US.
I tried the 70% Dark Dried Apple Banana bar on a whim. It is absolutely delicious!! The chocolate is very smooth and not too sweet. The dried fruit adds a slightly chewy texture and compliments the chocolate perfectly! I ordered more. :-))
My new favorite! At this level of cacao, most chocolate starts to get "grainy". Not this one. This is on a different level than commercially produced dark chocolate. Mahalo!
Something experienced on the big island can experience year round.
Cocoa Tea, not as wild as an idea that you might think. It's a fine black tea that they've combined with cocoa bean chaff that makes the house smell amazing when brewing. It's like walking into Willy Wonkas kitchen. The flavor is unparalleled great as an iced tea or hot. My family loved this tea when we tasted it on the Big Island in July and we have been hooked ever since. Once you taste this amazing tea you won't be going back to any other tea again.
I've only cold steeped this tea. I enjoy it a lot and am glad I got the 16oz bag because I drink tea often. For me it doesn't really need a sweetener. But if I were to add, I'd put in some of the Big Island Bees honey.
I heard that proanthocyanidins (a type of flavonoid found in many plants, known for their potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties), were in cacao nibs and I wanted to buy local. These are really delicious with greek yogurt and blueberries. The bitterness of the cacao nibs balances out the tartness of the yogurt and blueberries. But I also eat them by themselves as a little snack. I practically eat these everyday! Mahalo for such a great product. I will be buying more as soon as I run out.
I love the matcha-mamaki! Soo good!!
I have tried other brands ,including other Hawaiian brands - this by far is the most flavorful brewed coca out there.I make it in a French press and drink it warm with a little milk in the morning and have the rest over ice later in the day

Celebrating the Rich Heritages of Hawai‘i's Mixed Cultures
Before the different peoples of Hawai‘i began learning each others' languages and creating pidgin, they created bonds by sharing their lunches. Food in Hawaiian and local cultures is more than just for sustenance. It is a way to celebrate seasons and commemorate events, nurture the soul, and for communities to strengthen their bonds and extend care and aloha in ways beyond words. We draw inspiration from local flavors and hope our products help you to perpetuate those sentiments.

Lovingly Grown and Made in Hawaiʻi Nei by Local Mahiʻai
The 100% Hawaiian cacao we use for our chocolates comes from our very own Ua Hānai Orchards, for a true Tree-to-Bar chocolate experience! We are a "no spray" farm, using agroforestry and permaculture practices to lessen our impact on the land. This is to create a healthier growing environment for our crops, and healthier foods for you!
Our co-founder and Master Mahi‘ai (farmer), Tom, has been farming on Oahu, Maui and Big Island over 4 decades, traveling the world to share his experience as a consultant and learn from other cultures. Those connections have turned into wonderful partnerships with other local mahi‘ai, who's products we are proud to source and offer to you. -
Encouraging Conservation and Self Sustainable Growth Within the Islands
Hawai‘i is our home, and it is our kuleana (responsibility) to mālama ‘āina (care for the land) as much as it cares and provides for us. We strive to balance this stewardship with the growing need for fresh, healthy foods in our communities and to ensure food stability for future generations.
